What is a household?

Two people sharing one Cook Well kitchen on one membership, each with their own login.

Updated November 5, 2026

A household is you and one other person cooking from the same Cook Well. You plan meals in one planner, shop from the same grocery lists and save recipes to one cookbook. Each of you still signs in with your own email.

Every membership includes one more person, so there's nothing extra to pay. The person you invite gets full access to Cook Well through your membership.

Who can be in a household

  • A household has two people: you and one other person.
  • The person who sends the invite is the household's owner. The person who joins is a member. Settings → Household shows who's who.
  • Owner and member can do the same things with everything you share. Only the owner can invite someone or remove them.

Everyone already has a household of their own, with just them in it. Inviting someone brings them into yours.

You need a membership to send an invite. Then follow Invite someone to your household.
