Chicken salad is a great way to repurpose leftover chicken. Use this framework to create whatever kind of chicken salad you like. You can also follow these ratios with canned tuna instead!

Ingredients

  • 2 parts protein

    • cooked chicken
      ~226 g1/2 lb
  • 1 part aromatics

    • carrots
      ~25 g
    • celery
      ~25 g
    • onions
      ~25 g
    • scallions
      ~25 g
  • 1/4 creamy

    • mayonnaise
      ~25 g
  • 1/8 part acidic & flavor adjusters

    • mustard
      ~12 g
    • garlic powder
      to taste
    • paprika
      to taste
    • onion powder
      to taste
    • salt
      to taste
    • black pepper
      to taste

Method

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients

Shred or dice the cooked chicken.

Prep any aromatics you want to throw in like carrots, celery, or onions.

Step 2: Mix together & serve

Mix together all chicken salad components.

Adjust with more mayo if desired, more mustard for acidity, and salt + spices to taste. Serve with lettuce wraps, crackers, or bread.
