    • white rice
      , cooked
    • scallions
      , thinly sliced
    • hot sauce
    • simmered gumbo

Remove the bay leaves and thyme sprigs from the pot.

Ladle hot gumbo into bowls, then add a scoop of cooked white rice over top. Garnish with scallions, hot sauce, and more black pepper.
