Chick-Fil-A Style Grilled Chicken Deluxe Sandwich
The perfect mayo marinated chicken sandwich.
This grilled chicken sando is coming to a home kitchen near you. I use a mayo marinade with lemon and herbs for incredible nonstick browning and then finish the sandwich with a tangy honey bbq sauce.

Ingredients
Lemon herb grilled chicken
- chicken breasts2
- garlic, minced1 clove
- lemon zest1/2 lemon
- salta sprinkle
- mayonnaisea spoonful
- thymea pinch
- black peppera sprinkle
Sandwich components
- brioche bun2
- bacon2-4 slices
- colby jack cheese2 slices
- lettuce
- tomatoes, sliced
- pickled onions
Honey mustard bbq sauce
- mayonnaise2 parts20 g
- barbecue sauce2 parts20 g
- honey1 part10 g
- dijon mustard1 part10 g
- black peppera few sprinkles
- salta pinch
Method
Step 1: Butterfly & marinate the chicken
Butterfly the chicken breast and cut it into two pieces (one slightly larger piece for the sandwich).
Add mayo, lemon zest, thyme, black pepper, salt and garlic to the chicken and mix together to ensure even coverage.
Step 2: Sear the chicken & crisp the bacon
To a medium-hot griddle or cast iron pan, the chicken for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until . Cook the chicken until the internal temp reaches 150 to 155° F - 68°C. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Meanwhile, cook the slices of bacon for the sandwich.
Step 3: Make the sauce
Combine all the honey mustard bbq sauce toppings together in a small container and stir to combine.
- This sauce can be kept in the refrigerator to use for other sandwiches & wraps
Prepare any other toppings for the sandwich - lettuce, tomato, cheese. Toast a bun on the griddle.
Step 4: Assemble & serve
Place some sauce on the toasted bun, along with lettuce, tomato, pickled onions, grilled chicken, bacon, Colby jack, and more sauce on top. Enjoy!
