500 Calorie Burger
A lower-calorie burger that still tastes great.
This burger tastes amazing but won’t kill you in terms of calories. Lean beef isn't as flavorful or juicy, but the sauce & cheese make up for it here.

Ingredients
Core burger components
- 93/7 ground beef142 g1/3 lb
- salta sprinkle
- american cheese2 slices
- brioche buns1
Burger sauce
- pickles, finely diced5 g
- red onions, finely diced5 g
- kewpie mayo5 g
- mustard5 g
- ketchup10 g
- smoked paprikaa sprinkle
Method
Step 1: Prep the meat & make the burger sauce
Divide the ground beef into two ~ 70 g balls. Sprinkle salt on both patties.
Combine all burger sauce components in a small bowl and mix until well combined. Taste and adjust as needed.
Step 2: Sear & smash the patties
Preheat a skillet over high heat.
Once the skillet is hot, add the burger patties and let them slightly to help prevent sticking. After a few seconds, flip them over and smash down each patty with your spatula.
- Add an additional sprinkle of salt on top of each patty and let them for a minute or so before flipping.
Once they are mostly cooked through, add a slice of cheese to each patty and stack them on top of each other.
- To help melt the cheese, add a splash of water to the skillet and a metal bowl (or lid) on top of the patties which will let them .
Remove the patties from the heat once the cheese is melted.
Step 3: Toast the bun & assemble
Add a bun to the skillet and let it toast and crisp up.
When the bun is toasted, add some sauce to both sides, and then add the patty stack.
- You can add more toppings if you wish, or keep it simple as is.
